Day 10 of #SciBookWishList features Stuff Matters by Mark Miodownik

It’s safe to say, Mark Miodownik is a man obsessed with materials. As Professor of Material Science at UCL, he’s on a mission to make us all appreciate the wonderful materials surrounding us.

Miodownik scratches beneath the surface of common materials such as steel, glass, paper, porcelain along with plastics and carbon fibre. However, he doesn’t stop at the common materials, including chocolate, aerogels, graphene and bionic body replacements!

If you’ve ever wanted to know how unseen layers of atoms create the familiar properties of glass, porcelain and stainless steel, or why we adore diamonds, this book is for you!
