Shaping up: How organs form

From our heart to our skin, organs accomplish all the tasks that keep us alive. But how did they come into shape? Max Perutz award nominee, Dr. Clara Sidor, from the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, will talk about how her research aims to solve this mystery using fruit flies.

Stem cell therapy

Stem cells hold unprecedented promises for the development of new therapies against a large number of disease. While the first patients are benefiting from this medical revolution, several challenges remain to be addressed before transferring more broadly stem cells from the lab to the clinic. Professor Ludovic Vallier from the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute will discuss the advances and challenges associated with the use of stem cells in regenerative medicine.

The talk will be followed by Q&A.
