Obesity is a major public health problem in today’s society. Why do people get fat? The answer is clear: people are eating too much and moving too little. But the more difficult question is, why do people eat too much?

The first SciBar talk of 2016 will be given by Dr Giles Yeo from the University of Cambridge Institute of Metabolic Science. He will argue that when it comes to controlling how much we eat, our genes have the answer.

The talk will be followed by Q&A.
