Welcome to Future Debates, a series of events supported by the British Science Association.

These events are part of our work to make science a fundamental part of British society and culture. We want to empower many more people – not just scientists – to constructively engage in debates over the applications and implications of science in their lives, their local economy and the UK’s future.

The event is being held with the support of the British Science Association and the Al-Kindi Society for Engineers and the IEEE Students Society at Newcastle University.

Zeyad Yousif (Robotics Researcher at the University of Newcastle), Haval Kadhem (Senior Project Manager at Surrey Satellite Technology), and a host of other panellists will debate on the future of robotics, artificial intellegience and the role they will play within our society over the coming years. Live demonstrations of Robots being used for Research at Newcastle will be on show and there will be an opportunity for attendees to interact and ask questions related to Robotics and its impact in everyday life.

Directions to the venue will be updated shortly.
