Hampstead Scientific Society: 'The curious world of rotations' Rotating bodies sometimes behave in ways that appear counterintuitive, yet such behaviour can readily be explained by the simple rules of classical mechanics. Also counterintuitive is the motion of bodies as observed relative to a rotating frame of reference, and we live on a rotating frame of reference - the Earth. The lecture, with its associated demonstrations, will introduce the audience to various aspects of the fascinating world of rotations. The event is open to members and to the general public. No booking is needed. A voluntary donation of £2 would be welcome from visitors to contribute to running costs.
