What separates the living from the non-living? What unites all living things, from the very first to appear on earth to all the cells in your own body? Is living beyond any physical explanation? Can we ever create life in the laboratory? Explore these questions with new insights gained from applying physics and philosophy to the most fundamental problems of biology.

Come along to our July Science Cafe to find out more about this fascinating topic.  Dr. Keith Farnsworth of Queen's University Belfast will give a short talk and tell us about how science and philosophy attempt to address these questions.

The event will follow our popular Science Cafe format: a 20 minute talk, followed by a short interval, and then a Q & A session with our expert speaker.

Pizza and drinks will be available to buy at the bar before the event.
