Science in the Park is the Nottinghamshire branch of the British Science Association’s largest annual event. Exhibitors, presentations and demonstrations make this an exciting and interesting day out for anyone interested in science. The event plays host to a wide range of scientists – from universities and schools, industry and business, and hobbyists who all play a huge role in making the day a success year after year.

Some of the highlights from previous years include snail racing, dancing robots, colour-changing chemistry and “Physics Live!” creating a life-sized cloud in the courtyard!

In 2016, we are also hosting a Science Fair, where schoolchildren from primary and secondary schools can come and present their own science projects for the chance to win exciting science prizes and even earn a Bronze CREST Award.

We have partnered with the Children’s University to become a “Learning Destination”, allowing primary school aged children to take part and we’ll be giving away free Home Science Kits for budding young scientists to enjoy at home.

Following the successes of previous years, we are inviting guest speakers to give short presentations on their scientific work – catering to those considering a career in science, and to anyone with an interest in the role science plays in the wider world.
