Professor Phil Taylor

Phil is Professor of Electrical Power Systems and Director of the Institute for
Sustainability at Newcastle University. He is an internationally leading researcher
and industrial expert in smart grid technology, energy storage system
management, infrastructure and control, and leads large-scale smart grid and
energy storage demonstration projects throughout the UK.

Professor Paul Watson

Paul is Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Digital Institute at
Newcastle University. His research focuses on cloud computing, data intensive e-
science and exploring ways advanced technologies can improve the lives of those
from vulnerable groups including older people, disabled people, and marginalised
youth.
