The British Science Association’s CREST Star team and the Worshipful Company of Horners have launched a new competition to challenge primary school students to research and design the ultimate lunchbox.

The competition, which encourages children to research, investigate, design and share their ideas for the perfect polymer packaging for keeping packed lunches protected from being squished in school bags.

Entries are open to all primary-aged UK students and the deadline for submissions is 24 April 2015 and prizes include £25 Curious Minds student voucher; science goody bag worth at least £15; £50 TIMSTAR voucher for the school and an educator/school subscription to the BSA's CREST Star programme (usual cost £40).
