Evening events

The SciScreen all-night film show is just one of the programme’s events that is strictly for the grown-ups. An entire night dedicated to films themed around science, including cult classics, science fiction, talks and experimentation with researchers from Newcastle University, Festival-goers are invited not just to be part of the audience, but also part of the experiment. The Electromagnetic Pulse Party is a club night out with a difference, combining DJs, performance, interactive installations and playful science.

Test your brain power at the Brain of Newcastle pub quiz; laugh your socks of with the Ugly Animal Preservation Society  and go back in time with a drama of the battle between Edison and Swan. Who really invented the lightbulb?
