British Science Week (BSW) is a ten-day national programme of science, technology, engineering and maths events and activities across the UK aimed at people of all ages.

BSW will take place from 10 - 19 March 2076.

Ideas and inspiration

There are lots of different ways your branch can take part in BSW, from organising a talk or lecture, to doing some fun hands-on science demonstrations. Here are a few sources of inspiration that you can use…

• Talk to branch volunteers from across the UK on our Facebook group or Google group – a great source of collective knowledge!
• Talk to the Engagement Team to see what else is going on in your area
• Check out our activity packs and quizzes that are full of fun activity ideas covering a range of topics
• Take a look at our case studies page for examples of past events
• Browse the BSW how-to guides.

Funding for your event

This year, we are offering branches grants from £500-10000 for running an event during BSW. Our new online application form will be launched very soon, but in the meantime, you can read through the grant guidelines.

If you have an activity in mind, why not speak to the Engagement Team about relevant fundraising opportunities? There is also a wealth of fundraising guidance in our branches fundraising toolkit, available to download from the branch resources section.

Registering your event

If you are running an event during BSW, make sure you register your event on our website. By registering your event, we can help you to promote it via our online event calendar, and you will also be able to request a free marketing back of BSW branded materials.
