If you completed a Crest Award between 2007 - 2013 please note:

The British Science Association (BSA) intends to share CREST data with the Department for Education (DfE) to test the impact of taking part in a CREST Award on attainment and the uptake of STEM subjects. This will involve the BSA sharing the Personal Data of CREST participants for the purpose of linking it with the National Pupil Database.  Pupil and school names will be removed from the dataset before it is passed to volunteer economists working for Pro Bono Economics for analysis.

The research is an extremely valuable opportunity to consider the impact and inclusivity of the CREST Awards scheme.

However, if you are a CREST Awardee and do not want to be included in this research, then you can opt out of your information being included by emailing [email protected] (including your name, school address and when you undertook CREST).

Those wishing to opt out must express this before 28th February 2015 to enable the research to go ahead in March 2015.

Any published report will not include pupil names or school names without prior permission. The dataset received by analysts is likely to include sensitive pupil data such as ethnic group however all volunteers will be bound by Data Confidentiality Agreements issued by the Department for Education.
