Science Museum

The Science Museum currently offers an exciting and informative, interactive outreach workshop that can be counted towards the CREST Star scheme's SuperStar award. Let the Science Museum come to you! The outreach programme can bring dynamic curriculum-linked shows and workshops into your school, community group or science club.

Hot Air Balloons (Superstar Award)
Travel back to 18th Century France, and find out how the Montgolfier brothers and their farmyard friends flew into the history books. Discover the science behind hot air balloons… and then make one of your very own in this exciting workshop. Investigate what the best material for the Hot Air Balloon is and see how high yours will fly.
Duration: 1 hour

For further information about their other workshops please visit the Science Museum's webpages for educators, or call 0207 942 4707.
