Café Scientifique – Learning to Live with Water

Tuesday, 26 March, 2013 - 20:00 to 22:00

Join this Café Scientifique debate and discussion with Dr John Williams on Learning to Live with Water. In the UK most people lack awareness of the infrastructure that makes urban life possible; as a consequence they misuse these vital systems. Research in Environmental Technology at the University of Portsmouth examines the impact this behaviour has on our water and waste water systems. Dr John Williams will discuss some of his recent projects into how fats, oils and grease accumulate in sewers and how pharmaceuticals pass through sewage works.

Suitable for all ages, free event, no booking required.
