Cartographies of life & death: John Snow & disease mapping
An exhibition to mark the bicentenary of epidemiologist John Snow, celebrating his seminal mapping of the cholera outbreaks of the 1850s and the implications for society today. Cartographies of Life and Death maps a trail of discovery through on and off-site historical material and contemporary artworks. It will include key historical objects from the London School and other notable collections; newly commissioned artworks that will give imaginative and lively interpretations of scientific themes; a public film screening curated by UCL’s Urban Laboratory; and a mobile website that will allow visitors to follow the exhibition programme via a participatory trail.
