Knit a square of the periodic table

Sunday, 2 December, 2012 - 09:30

If you like knitting (or crochet) and chemistry then this is the event for you. We hope to knit as many Periodic Tables as possible and then send the knitted squares to KasCare 'Knit a square' who will use all the squares to make blankets for children orphaned as a result of AIDS. You can find out more about the project and full instructions about how to knit the squares here Perhaps your school, local church, sports club etc could get together to try and be the first to complete the whole Periodic Table. Once you've knitted a square add the chemical symbol and atomic number using felt applique, swiss darning or any other creative method you can think of.
