From Manet to Mars bars: What has science got to do with art?

Friday, 15 March, 2013 - 11:00 to 15:00

Year 12 students and teachers from a comprehensive school in London will spend the day with scientist Dr Christina Young in the Courtauld Institute Conservation Department and the Courtauld Gallery. They will discover how the properties of materials used to make art have changed through history and how science can reveal hidden secrets about the life of a painting.
