National Science & Engineering Week 2013 Aberystwyth University Science Fair

Tuesday, 19 March, 2013 - 09:30 to Thursday, 21 March, 2013 - 15:00

A three day festival of science is being organised by Aberystwyth University as part of the 2013 National Science and Engineering Week.

We are hoping for more than 1900 school pupils from over 20 schools in Ceredigion, Powys and Gwynedd who have already signed up for ‘Invention and Discovery’ at the Sports Cage on the University’s Penglais Campus.

Event organisers are also extending a warm invitation to members of the public with the Wednesday session remaining open until 6 in the evening.  Opening hours on Tuesday and Thursday are 9.30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Interactive exhibits from the University’s science departments and Institutes (Mathematics and Physics, Computer Science, Sports and Exercise Science, Psychology, Geography and Earth Sciences, Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences, and Information Services) will feature along with Ceredigion County Council.

‘Invention and Discovery’ is all about showing the excellent scientific work that is being done at Aberystwyth University in a way that will inspire and enthuse people to widen their knowledge of science, understand how enjoyable it can be and how important it is in all our lives.”

‘Invention and Discovery’ is organised by the Centre for Widening Participation and Social Inclusion (CWPSI) at Aberystwyth University.
