Polar explorer, Anthony Jinman

About the lecture Dr Antony Jinman Ed.D, Explorer in Residence of Plymouth University, member of The Explorers Club and Public Speaker, will deliver a lecture introducing the emerging partnership between ETE and UWE which seeks to use UWE expeditions, research and wider projects and through ETE reach a wide audience of schools and colleges that can engage with this material. About Antony Jinman Being a Polar explorer gives you a lot of time to think, to question your desire to continue. But Antony Jinman never does. The question was answered at 22, when a snowboarding accident split a vertebra and broke his back. He vowed never to leave a what-if unexplored. There is no set career path to becoming an explorer. No degree or apprenticeship. Exploration is a realisation of a dream. After five years in the armed forces, Antony left to pursue this dream. He became an adventure tour guide at 23 and then an expedition leader at the age of 25, travelling extensively all over the world.
