Science and the Mary Rose

Wednesday, 20 March, 2013 - 18:00 to 20:00

Join staff from the Mary Rose Trust and the University of Portsmouth as they discuss the important role Science and Technology play in the conservation of the Mary Rose and the many associated artefacts. It will be shown how scientific techniques are used to characterise artefacts, determine reactions occurring within them and develop suitable conservation treatments. Following the lecture there will be the opportunity to speak to the researchers, have a tour of the conservation facilities and discover the science learning activities offered by the Trust.
