Science on the streets - Cathedral tour
On our walking tour around the Glasgow Cathedral graveyard and the Necropolis we will discuss revolutionary advancements in science and medicine pioneered in and around Glasgow. Our tour will discuss scientific developments ranging from the introduction of antiseptics to transatlantic communications. We will visit the memorial stone to Lord Kelvin which sits beside the Thomson family gravestone. We will also visit the grave of a notorious body snatcher and of a Glasgow scientist who attempted to bring an executed murderer back to life using electricity.
