Stunted Trees and Broken Bridges screening, Picturehouse Stratford East
Following on from the award winning production DAYGLO last year Y Touring will be returning with another special event for Science & Engineering Week 2013, Stunted Trees and Broken Bridges.
This year’s project promises to engage students in an informed debate about the latest scientific research on neuroscience. It will explore themes and questions which will shape our futures and that we all need to have a say in, in a format that brings the arts, science and technology together.
With a screening of a specially produced play and live in-screen debate with scientists, students will investigate the ethical, social and legal issues arising from the development and impact of novel neurotechnologies and the profound questions raised for personality, identity, responsibility and liberty, by progress in neuroscience.
Stunted Trees and Broken Bridges has been researched and developed in partnership with The Nuffield Council on Bioethics and The British Neuroscience Association and is supported by a strategic award from the Wellcome Trust.
