Westminster science festival

In celebration of the 175th anniversary of the University of Westminster, the Cavendish School Student Association (SSA) will host the institution’s first ever Science Festival.Taking place from 14th to 16th March 2013, at the start of the British Science Association's National Science & Engineering Week, the SSA Westminster Science Festival will bring together various departments for an exciting event showcasing the cross-disciplinary education and international diversity of one of central London's most dynamic Universities. In addition to highlighting the work of our staff, students and alumni through talks, poster sessions and demonstrations, the SSA will be presenting the results of a unique "crowd sourced" experiment based on Dr Michael Mosley's wildly successful Horizon programme Eat, Fast and Live Longer and his bestselling follow up book, The Fast Diet, which features an excerpt from one of Westminster's final year students on her experience with the 5:2 fasting regime. On the Saturday, the general public will be able to engage directly with the results of the experiment via talks with participants, an in depth look at Dr Mosley's book with Smoke TV and an 'international food market' recipe swap. Whether student, staff or general public, we hope you'll join us for this inaugural Science Festival and help us celebrate 175 years of the University of Westminster.
