In the Footsteps of Charles Darwin: The Geology of Cwm Idwal

The excursion will focus on two periods of geological history: the Ordovician (rocks of Snowdonia were forming) and the Quaternary (dominant features of the landscape were established). The extreme environmental trauma of these periods is dramatically displayed in the rocks and landscape of the area
