The big bang event
The College offers Science and Engineering qualifications up to degree level, and also runs GCSE Maths classes for adult learners in the evenings and Saturday mornings.
The Engineering-related curriculum is vocationally oriented with breadth and depth from Entry Level up to Level 3, with Higher National and Foundation degree programmes across mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering.
Construction and Building Services courses offer progression up to BSc (Hons), and Automotive students can follow Apprenticeship programmes up to Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships.
The College is keen to place Level 3 students in local science-based industries – to the benefit of employer and employee. Industry sectors engaged with include manufacturing, process engineering, ports, and the energy sector (including nuclear).
