Designing for sporting success

Thursday, 21 March, 2013 - 09:00 to 12:00

How much are the improvements in sporting achievements due to developments in the design of sporting equipment? What makes a good tennis racket or pair of running shoes? Sporting equipment will be examined to evaluate how well the design has met the functional needs of the athlete. A tour of the facilities in the Sports Technology Institute will follow the workshop giving an insight into some of the projects the Institute has carried out and the cutting edge technology it uses to support its research.
