Discovering super science
We have a range of activities planned for National Science & Engineering Week. We aim to start the week with a visit from Tech Fest's Cosmic Dome. This will allow a range of classes to learn about Day and Night and the wonders of the Night Sky. On Tuesday 19th 2 classes will take part in a Senses K'Next Generation Workshop. Generation Science will also deliver a Cosy, Cosy Challenge to 2 classes. Nursery - P2 children and parents will take part in a Science Storytelling Session in the school library. On Wednesday 20th March P6 will have a visit from the Author, Allan Bennett who will discuss Scottish inventors and inventions.
Throughout the week classes will take part in classroom based science activities, supported by P7 pupils who are aiming to become Science Champions. This involves supporting younger pupils to learn about science. It is also anticipated that pupils from P6 will take part in a BP Oil Exploration Challenge. The activity will involve map work, information about seismic surveys, making a structure out of paper and a matching activity with oil products. The School Assembly on Friday 22nd March will give pupils an opportunity to showcase what they have learned and achieved throughout the week. We are all looking forward to a fantastic National Science & Engineering Week.
