Science and engineering week: Transport
During the week commencing Monday 18th March we will be marking the National Science & Engineering Week. The theme for this week will be ‘Invention and Discovery’ and at St Peter’s we will be focusing on the invention of transport. Throughout this week each year group will explore a different aspect of this theme. EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 will focus on land transport, Year 3 and Year 4 sea transport and Year 5 and Year 6 air transport. These themes will link across the curriculum during this week. There will be a presentation of the children’s work for parents and the wider community to view after school on Thursday 21st March at 3.30pm during our Science Fair. This week will finish with two science shows. EYFS and KS1 will participate in the ‘Bubbles and Balloons’ show and KS2 will find out about the challenges of building a supersonic car capable of travelling over 1000mph in the show ‘Bloodhound Supersonic Car’.
