More and more evidence shows that the brain is not hardwired; it changes with everything we learn. In this series of talks, leading neuroscientists will present novel data on how learning changes both brain and behaviour. For example, learning music changes how your mind arranges things in space, while learning to tie knots changes your concepts of knot-like objects. Differences in how people learn from each other are important in conditions such as autism and schizophrenia. Together, these new results have important implications for how society uses cultural activities in teaching and learning, at school and beyond.
