Digital forensics is an established subject area underpinned by science and technology but how much is known about it by the general public? The most obvious ‘source’ of public perceptions relating to the science of computer forensics is likely to stem from television/film portrayals of what goes on behind the scenes but how much of what we see on our screens is fact and how much is fiction? This interactive presentation will give an introduction to the key principles of digital forensics and deals with some of the myths that are seen on well-known TV crime drama programmes.
