Volunteering with the Competition
The National Science + Engineering Competition finals are held at The Big Bang Fair, an annual event for young people to exhibit outstanding research projects and compete for top prizes. Volunteers assist with the exhibition in two main ways:

Finalist Care – ex competitors and finalists provide support to the school students, their teachers, the science fair judges and distinguished guests. There are also opportunities to help with competitor only events and help on our promotions team.
This is an excellent opportunity to interact with and encourage young scientists and engineers, and to network with local industry and education organisations as well as developing your communication skills.
Further opportunities may arise regionally for those that wish to become National Science + Engineering Competition Ambassadors.

Judges - Over 100 scientists, engineers and STEM professionals volunteer to judge for the National Science + Engineering Competition finals in March, and we are regularly looking for more judges to help support the regional heats across the UK in June/July and the online heats in November.
Judges must have a minimum of degree level in the subject areas they are judging in.
If you are interested in judging for the Competition, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
