Once a year Techniquest Science Centre works with partners to bring you a weekend packed with activities showcasing some of the best science ideas in action. National Science & Engineering weekend 22 and 23 March 2014.
Come along to handle some real-life creepy crawlies and other fantastic animals while surrounded by our fabulous zoological collection. Learn more about the animals from a member of the ZooLab team and find out how species adapt to survive.
During National Science & Engineering Week join the countryside rangers as they undertake a kick survey in the Brock Burn as part of the Clyde Riverfly Monitoring Partnership (CRIMP). We will then take our catch and have a closer look at it under the microscope. Wear your wellies!

Have fun whilst being creative with waste! Try your hand at transforming used plastic drinks bottles into flowers, windmills, birdfeeders, spiders and rockets. Then learn all about Scotland’s only Earthship – a fully autonomous, self-sustaining building with our close up quiz and tour.
'Music Lab' involves two craft-based workshops for children in two age ranges; 3–6, and 7–12. These workshops deconstruct instruments, using demonstrations and experiments to explain the scientific principles behind them. They will then get to choose one of three instruments to build themselves.
