Funding available for National Science & Engineering Week

Are you a school or an organisation wanting to take part in National Science & Engineering Week (NSEW), 15–24 March 2013? We are offering funding via the Kick Start Fund and Grant Scheme for Scotland to help you run events and activities during the Week.

Free resources support are available online to help make your school's activities straight forward and spectacular.

>> Kick-Start Fund, for schools in challenging circumstances

Eligible schools can apply for a £200 grant to run science enrichment activities for NSEW 2013, create a buzz, and inspire staff, pupils and parents. It’s only a four-step application and can make NSEW the best week of the year.

To be eligible for a grant schools must fit into at least one of the following criteria:

  1. have a high proportion (30% or more) of pupils from ethnic minority backgrounds
  2. be a small school based in a remote and rural location.
  1. have a high proportion (30% or more) of pupils eligible for free school meals

Click here for full information. The Kick-Start Fund is provided by BIS – Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.
