We are pleased to announce that nominations for the annual Award Lectures and the call for proposals for the British Science Festival 2016 are now open.

As announced earlier this year, the British Science Festival will be returning to the Swansea University from 6-9 September 2016, supported by Siemens. This is the fourth time Swansea has hosted the Festival, the first being in 1848 and the most recent being in 1990.

Propose an event

The Festival is a national platform to showcase cutting-edge science, celebrate latest scientific developments and engage in open discussion about issues that affect our culture and society.

We need your help to curate a vibrant programme of events!

There are no restrictions on the call for proposals; anyone can propose an event – individuals, researchers, organisations or academic institutions from all over the UK. Events can be talks, debates or discussions for a public audience.

Nominate an Award Lecture

For over 20 years, the British Science Association has acknowledged the work of promising early career researchers and scientists, through its Award Lecture series held at the British Science Festival.

Nominations for rising science communication stars, to be honoured in 2016, are now being sought.

The deadline for the call for proposals is 25 March 2016 and the Award Lecture nominations close on 4 March 2016.
