The British Science Association invited the general public to help us decide the winners of our British Science Week poster competition on our British Science Week Facebook page.

During British Science Week, young people across the UK were invited to enter the British Science Week poster competition. The theme this year was 'Science on your doorstep'. The competition had four age categories for children from reception to year 9 and an Artsmark category.

This year's theme, Space for Science: Science in Spaces, encouraged young people to think about and investigate all the different spaces in which we find and ‘do’ science.

It was incredibly hard to decide the winners at the BSA Headquarters, so we asked our Facebook community  to like posters to decide the winner, but we also took votes through email. 

We are delighted to announce the winners of the British Science Week poster competition 2016:

Artsmark: “Green Space” - Group entry by Oldbury Park Primary School (ages 4 to 5)          

Intermediate 1: “Global Warming” - Amaris Talati of Edgbaston School for Girls (age 8)          

Intermediate 2: “The Amazon Rainforest” Pru Thomas of Sompting Abbots School (age 10)   

Junior 1: “The Space Inside the Earth” Uday Batra of Montpellier Primary School (age 4)        

Junior 2: “Kepler 452B, New Second Earth 2.0” Eshal Azhar of Holbrook Primary (age 6)              

                "Science in Open Spaces" by Arabella McAndrew of Stratford Prep School (age 6) 

Senior: “Science in My Kitchen” Asu Cetin of Parmiter’s School (age 13)                         

The online voting really stirred up enthusiasm from our Facebook community, with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust endorsing finalists posters.
