This year, our topic will be ‘let’s invent and discover’, and will explore a range of inventions that have impacted on our lives. Pupils will also use a variety of experimental approaches to broaden and enhance their learning. For National Science & Engineering Week, we will develop a bank of ideas and resources for children to experience investigations and modern technology in a way that is accessible to them. For example, they will research a range of inventions, explore how these discoveries came about and investigate how the many ways in which they can be used. On the last day of science week, we would like to 'buy in' an external company to provide workshops where all pupils can engage in exciting, accessible science investigations. This will give pupils the opportunity to learn through self-discovery. We would also like to send a group of pupils from the school to the Science museum in order to broaden their learning. We hope to make science week an enjoyable, stimulating and educational experience for all the children at our school.
