There will be a 24ft authentic tipi constructed as permanent structure on our school field for use as a year round outdoor classroom with outdoor firepit and log seats for science and cross curr. links. Pupils will watch tipi being erected and design and make own using straws,sticks etc and cover with material.'Collette Bell-successful 'Dragon' will be coming in to give talk to all pupils about her experience with her children's product 'shampooheads' and appearance on 'Dragon's Den'. Whole school 'inventions' competition will be held where children design/make their own invention and present it to a 'staged' Dragon's Den panel(including Colette Bell)Open day will be held at end of week with public,parents,pupils,governors and keynote speaker 'Rosemary Feasey' who will offically open our 'outdoor classroom'. Evergreen's very own science detectives will perform magic science exhibitions around school and an adults competition will be held in hall for teams to build a structure using spaghetti and marshmallows to hold a creme egg.Parents will toast marshmallows and make sourdough bread with their chldren. A scoutleader will also be invited in to demonstrate safe ways of making a fire and managing risks.Pupils will make science crafts and kits to sell such as mini lava lamp kits, exploding cupcakes, rainbow cakes, homemade ice-cream and other wonderful and wacky things!Our science detectives will be touring classes throughout the week.An end of week celebration and awards
