Inspiring science: Lectures for A-Level students

As part of the British Library's Inspiring Science season, the British Library and the Francis Crick Institute are running FREE lectures inspiring A Level Science students about the world of science. The lectures offer young people a chance to hear from eminent scientists, savour a taste for university-style lectures and develop independent study skills. Lectures provide students with opportunities to: 1) hear from expert speakers and be inspired by their passion for the subject 2)discover what real scientific research is like 3)learn more about the multitude of careers open to scientists 4)be inspired to go on to study science at a higher level Speakers include Professor Alan Winfield Hewlett-Packard Professor of Electronic Engineering within the Bristol Robotics Lab at UWE Bristol; Professor Mark Maslin Professor of Climatology at University College London, Professor Kairbaan Hodivala-Dilke Head of the Angiogenesis Laboratory in the Centre for Tumour Biology, Barts Institute of Cancer, London To book these free lectures simply visit the British Library learning website or email learning@bl.uk For more information on other events and activities during Inspiring Science: www.bl.uk/inspiring-science
