Primary Science Teaching Trust - Running a Science Club

This free online Continuing Professional Development Unit introduces science clubs and the benefits of running a science club. It aims to give teachers ideas on how science clubs can be run successfully in a number of different ways, and how a typical science club session is run. This unit also provides example activities and places that you can go for ideas and help. All Primary Science Teaching Trust Continuing Professional Development Units are created and written by education professionals who have given their time and expertise to the project. Watch the CPD unit online.

Primary Engineer - STEM by STEALTH

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) by STEALTH (Learning through practical activities) was coined by a teacher after being involved with Primary Engineer. It summarises our work precisely, by practically applying mathematics and science to 'design and make' activities - both children and teachers are left inspired. As part of the resource pack, attendees receive three children's work books accredited towards a CREST Star Investigators award.   Find out more or book a course.

Science Learning CentresScience Learning Centres

The national network of Science Learning Centres offers an inspiring and innovative range of Continuing Professional Development opportunities. The primary programme will support you to engage children in exciting practical science activities, making relevant links to real-life contexts and other subjects across the curriculum. Many Science Learning Centres offer courses that introduce the CREST Star scheme as a great way of teaching hands-on investigative science. You will have the opportunity to try out new activities and strategies and think about how you can implement them back at school. Find out more or book a course.

 National STEM Centre

The National STEM Centre houses the UK’s largest collection of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teaching and learning resources, in order to provide teachers of STEM subjects with the ability to access a wide range of high-quality support materials and offer a treasure chest of inspiration.
