Regional Engagement Officer
REPORTING TO: Manager of Regional Programmes
RESPONSIBLE FOR: No staff
BASED: British Science Association, Wellcome Wolfson Building, 165 Queen's Gate, London SW7 5HD.
Regular travel within the UK will be needed.
TERMS: Full-time (35 hours per week), permanent
SALARY: £23-25k per annum
Overall purpose of the job
The purpose of this role is to stimulate and support regional, volunteer-led science engagement across the UK. The post-holder will play a key role in helping us re-shape the ways we recruit and organise our volunteers, in line with our new strategy.
The role includes supporting the British Science Association’s existing 32 Branches and c. 370 volunteers and our existing high-profile programmes such as National Science & Engineering Week and the British Science Festival. This role will also play a major role in developing new opportunities and partnerships, within and beyond our existing Branches, in order to grow and diversify our community of volunteers and enthusiasts.
