Rockin' crystals
By working together as a group, students can each focus on one thing and come together to share ideas and put on the show. This pack provides ideas on experiments to include in the show including experiments with crystals, rocks and some interesting wire! They all present their own little challenges… Any one of the activities can be carried out on a stand alone basis, for use in part of a session. If more time is available, organisers might select a set of activities, based on materials and equipment to hand, for the students to create their show. Audience Mostly for 11–13 year olds, these activities will also suit 14–16 year olds. Organisers will need to consider the ability range of their particular students. Most of the activities require the use of a science laboratory and its equipment. Includes possible extensions for CREST Award projects and teacher's/background notes.
