Nominate an Award Lecturer

Welcome to the Award Lectures nomination form 

Eligibility criteria:

The nominee must be an active researcher and have demonstrated outstanding communication skills to a general audience.

Their presentation should focus on their own research (ideally brand new research) and should demonstrate the societal impact of this work.

Although normally only open to people 40 or under at the date of the Festival we will consider applications for people over 40 who are either:

• within eight years of the award of their PhD or equivalent professional training, excluding any career break

• within six years of their first academic appointment 

The 5 Awards available are:

Lord Kelvin - physical sciences and mathematics
Isambard Kingdom Brunel - engineering, technology and industry
Charles Lyell - environmental sciences
Charles Darwin - agricultural, biological and medical sciences
Joseph Lister - social sciences
