Media Fellowships: terms & conditions
I understand that
(a) Applications will only be considered eligible if accompanied by signed letter of support, on headed paper, from my employer/ supervisor/ line manager/head of department/funder or equivalent.
As in the example provided, the letter will confirm that my employer/funder is willing to release me on full pay for the duration of the Fellowship and has to be received by the British Science Association by 16 March 2014.
(b) depending on the location, I may be asked to relocate for the duration of my placement.
If required, an out-of-pocket accommodation costs up to £130 per week will be paid (self-catered). Other options can be discussed.
(c) the Association will compensate Media Fellows for all reasonable additional costs incurred when they are required to undertake an assignment away from their normal place of work and the assignment location makes it impossible or impracticable for them to live at home during the period of the secondment.
All additional costs should be discussed with and approved by the Association.
(d) I am available on the following dates
- 5 June 2014: briefing/ training day, London
- 3-6 weeks June – September 2014: media placement
- 6-11 September 2014: British Science Festival, Newcastle
- 30 October 2014: debrief day, London
(e) I will liaise with Media Fellowship funders' and my organisation's press office and public engagement team, which may include a few days in the press office and involve public engagement or media activities
(f) I will write a short report about the Media Fellowship by 6 October 2014
