Once you have achieved your CREST Award, you may wish to attend an event – either locally or nationally - to celebrate your work or even compete in a competition for prizes. The following are some of the main events you can attend.
National Science + Engineering Competition
The National Science + Engineering Competition [1] allows CREST students to compete for amazing prizes and unique experiences. The Competition finals are held at The Big Bang Fair each March.
CREST sponsors two prizes for its students only at the national finals of Competition, They highlight attributes in project work that are integral to the scheme.
CREST Award can be considered a good benchmark for quality project work as in 2012 the top awards of UK Young Scientist and UK Young Engineers of the Year along with ¾ of all prizes went to CREST award holders.
To find out more, including how to enter, please visit the National Science + Engineering Competition website [1].
Big Bang Near Me Fairs
In June / July celebrations of UK student project work take place at Big Bang Near Me Fairs.
The regional heats of the National Science + Engineering Competition take place at selected events. CREST also offers prizes for those with an Award at these events.
They are a great opportunity to gain presentation skills, confidence as well as taking part in a fun and inspirational day.
