Civil Engineering is all about working together to help harness the earth's resources and to resist and control the forces of nature such as the ground, the sea and the air. A key area which brings these skills together is in the design and construction of bridges. This engineering workshop pits competing teams of bridge designers against one another to design and build the strongest bridge. The bridges are tested to destruction at the end of the workshop and a prize is awarded for the strongest design.
