Put a spring in your step. Fill your lungs with fresh air on Saturday 16th of March. RSPB Mersehead in Dumfries and Galloway is holding ‘Boots and Barnacles’, a 5km or 10km sponsored walk on Saturday 16th March in line with National Science and Engineering week. Did you know Mersehead is one of the best places in the UK for wildlife? The walk goes round the Coastal Trail with views across the Solway and has special access on the day to parts of the reserve not normally open for the public. During the sponsored walk, you will discover the conservation efforts taking place on the reserve and have an opportunity to look for species such as the Svalbard Barnacle Goose and Lapwings. Create a group of friends and family for the walk and collect sponsorship money to support your local environment. All ages welcome and refreshments are provided on the day. For your free registration pack please email Anna on Anna.Weston@rspb.org.uk or phone on 0131 317 4174. ‘Boots and Barnacles’ is kindly supported by the Scottish Government, National Science and Engineering week and the British Science Association.
