We hope to hold a science fair on Friday 22nd March, during National Science and Engineering Week, which will raise the profile of science as a wow factor subject.  Our Super Cool Science fair will cover all sorts of science related topics:  from how things work, to the science behind everyday life. We will invite all pupils from the secondary department of our school (S1 to S6, approx 70 pupils) and invites will go out to all of these pupils’ parents and carers.

To give our audience a broad science experience the workshops will touch on elements of physics, chemistry and biology.   In addition we aim to further our partnership links with Grange Academy (for further info see section 23 – partnerships) as pupils from 2nd year science classes will support our pupils in their journey of scientific discovery.  As budding scientists their role will be to demonstrate and lead the fun science workshops. Our Super Cool Science fair will be open for most of the school day.  Classes will come to the Super Cool Science lab (the assembly hall) at set times and rotate around each of the activity workshops.  The guests (parents & carers) will come and go when suits them (they will be notified as to what time their child’s class will be involved). The science fair visitors will participate in a wide range of hands on, fun science activities.
