What age-range does the CREST Awards scheme cover?

CREST Awards are typically taken by 11-19yr olds, though younger students can also take them.

Bronze Awards are usually taken by 11-14yr olds; around 10 hours of project work is expected.

Silver Awards are usually taken by 14-16yr olds; around 30 hours of project work is expected.  A mentor who has expertise relevant to the project is preferred.  Your CREST Local Coordinator can help you find one.

Gold Awards are usually taken by 16-19yr olds; these longer-term projects require around 70 hours work.  A mentor who has expertise relevant to the project is compulsory.  Your CREST Local Coordinator can help you find one.

CREST Star is a separate scheme for Primary aged students and has a different format. Please click here [1] for more details.
