There are many different options for your CREST project as CREST Awards are designed to engage all students. 

A wide variety of projects can fit the CREST criteria and can be:

• Created by a student
• Chosen by a teacher
• Provided by local companies or universities
• Selected from the CREST website’s bank of 150 free ideas.  Please click here [1] for further details.

CREST Award projects can fall into three broad categories:

• Research – this usually involves answering a question/hypothesis by reading articles/reports and collecting data from different sources.  The data is then collated, evaluated and used to provide evidence.
• Investigation or Design and make – this usually involves planning and then carrying out a practical investigation or solving a problem through design.
• Science Communication – here, students articulate something to an audience about a scientific subject. They research their topic and audience, present the information and measure the outcomes of their discussion (such as changes in audience attitudes).
