There are many different options for your CREST project as CREST Awards are designed to engage all students.
A wide variety of projects can fit the CREST criteria and can be:
- Created by a student
- Chosen by a teacher
- Provided by local companies or universities
- Selected from the CREST website’s bank of 150 free ideas. Please click here [1] for further details.
- From a link scheme – CREST accreditation is available for a host of other schemes. Please click here [2] for further details.
CREST Award projects can fall into three broad categories:
- Research – this usually involves answering a question/hypothesis by reading articles/reports and collecting data from different sources. The data is then collated, evaluated and used to provide evidence.
- Investigation or Design and make – this usually involves planning and then carrying out a practical investigation or solving a problem through design.
- Science Communication – here, students articulate something to an audience about a scientific subject. They research their topic and audience, present the information and measure the outcomes of their discussion (such as changes in audience attitudes).
