National Science & Engineering Week’s theme for 2013 is Invention & discovery. [1] Everything around us has at some point been invented and everyday problems lead to new innovations to solve them. Explorers of the natural world discover new things every day, from new species to space phenomena.

And speaking of discoveries…did you know that since 1987, 3,000 new amphibian species have been discovered? This year, we are challenging you to make your own jumping frog with the templates available to download on the Origami jumping frog page.  If you’re “stuck”, feel free to cheat with the video instructions [3], your frog will be up and jumping in no time!
